The revelations were made by the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited principle marketing sales officer Peter Ngota.
Africa region has been experiencing sporadic cable cuts, most notably recently with the SEACOM cable, leading many pundits to discuss ways to avoid disruption to services.
Ngote added the disruptions were not connected to the National ICT backbone structure and were purely an external issue.
SEACOM had its cable cuts three different times in a span of two weeks, with three divers arrested off the coast of Egypt.
According to the Daily News newspaper, Ngota praised the government for installing the fibre cables across the country to enable development and connectivity.
According to International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Tanzania had an internet penetration of 12 per cent by June 2012, having over 5 million internet users.
