South African fashion retailer Mr Price has implemented Oracle’s ATG Web Commerce solution as the platform for its new cross-channel commerce offering, which went live early this year.
The eCommerce site provides customers with access to the complete range of Mr Price clothing, footwear and accessories online. These items — all of them in one store — were previously only available in the larger Mr Price stores
Mr Price’s eCommerce executive Donovan Baney said: “The launch of our ecommerce capabilities is about strengthening our relationship with our target customers and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
“Oracle ATG Web Commerce delivered a full suite of commerce solutions to fit our cross-channel growth and customer service needs and transform the shopping experience,” he said.
This new set of applications is said to deliver a seamless experience for customers whether they are in store, on the web, on a mobile device or at a kiosk. The platform enables visitors to browse, shop, purchase, track an order, collect and return items through any of these channels.
Also, the new site is integrated with social media applications allowing customers to create wishlists and share liked items and purchase ideas with friends.
“Oracle is helping Mr Price to meet its business objectives in delivering a seamless customer experience,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail.
“Optimising each interaction supports a better overall customer experience, from which retailers can achieve strategic advantage across all channels and international markets.” he added
The Oracle applications are enabling Mr Price to develop leading-edge cross-channel ecommerce capabilities, and, over time, integrate five distinct trading divisions into a single platform.
This effort is seen as unifying and optimising customer interactions across channels and providing the scalability to support a rapid growth strategy.
