Nairobi Startup Pitch Night #3

Nairobi Start-Up Pitch Night is a (free) regular event where 5 startups of all stages and industries get to pitch. The event brings together investors, advisors, students, business leaders, successful and aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone who loves startups. The Startup Nights will be held every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Silicon Savannah: Reality Check

Where: iHub, Nairobi

A brutally honest discussion around what’s really going on in Silicon Savannah. Hosting the discussion will be Njeri Rionge, Andrea Bohnstedt, Conrad Akunga and Mbwana Alliy.

AITEC East Africa ICT Summit 2012

DEMO Africa 2012

DEMO Africa is one of the flagship initiatives of LIONS@frica and aims to connect African startups to the global ecosystem. DEMO Africa will be the place where the most innovative companies from African countries come to launch their products and announce to Africa and the world what they have developed. The event is a partnership between CIO East Africa and IDG Enterprise.

Calling Cape Town Start-Ups
When: 17th October
Where: Umbono/88mph, 66 Albert Road, Block A, 4th floor, Woodstock Exchange

Calling Cape Town Start-Ups is a pitching day for startups organized by 88mph and the Google Umbono! The winner will be entered as a finalist for 88mph accelerator’s programme — which opens for applications on 17 October, so use this event to get a head start on your start-up! The winning team will also receive free co-working space for up to three people in the Umbono space for the duration of three months, mentorship and access to our networks. This co-working space will be made available immediately till end January 2013. The 88mph programme will kick-off with their chosen teams early February 2013.

UCT IS Expo 2012

UCT IS Expo event by the University of Cape Town where teams will be given the opportunity to present their software applications to industry and the public.Every year, third year and honours student teams in the Department of Information Systems at UCT develop unique software solutions for real-life businesses. The main aim of these projects is to expose students to the rigours of developing information systems and managing projects. The final shrink wrapped systems provide an impressive illustration of students’ innovation and abilities.

Silicon Cape Networking Event is a community-driven initiative by Silicon Cape that aims to establish Cape Town as the centre for start-ups in Africa. The Silicon Cape Initiative is a non-profit, private sector community movement.
