MultiChoice announces discounts for loyal customers

Africa’s leading pay television provider MultiChoice Kenya has unveiled a special package for its customer who pay on time. Starting next month, subscribers who pay the annual subscription early and in full will enjoy a 12 percent discount, while monthly payers will enjoy a 10 percent discount.

According to MultiChoice, this is line with the company rewarding its loyal customers while at the same time a motivation for customers who have been late to pay their subscriptions to pay early.

MultiChoice Kenya’s general manager Danny Mucira said the offer will also increase customer loyalty among the ‘under 20 percent’ who have not been paying on time indicating a number of customers were experiencing problems paying on time.

The offer is also extended to multiple smart cards customers who continue to pay loyally.

The announcement that coincides with the festive season will also see customers from various other countries enjoy the same offer that has already been rolled out in Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania.

The discounts are also expected to increase the subscriber base ahead of the festive season at a period that the pay media is receiving intense competition from cable television Zuku and a number of digital terrestrial providers, even as TV stations nationwide switch from analogue to digital broadcasting.

To this effect, MultiChoice has released a number of portable devices among them the walker 3.5 inch, the drifter WiFi and the drifter USB. Earlier this year, the company released a product for the iPhone and iPad market the idrifter, to complement its 3G service as well as the walker 7 inch targeting users in the officers.

With the new offer, premium package customers will save KSh688, KSh430 for the DSTV compact plus, KSh258 for the DSTV compact and KSh86 for DSTV access. Annual subscribers will however enjoy larger discounts. Mucira says this translates to more than a free month annually.

DSTV has more than 3.2 million subscribers across Africa.
