Gilat Satcom chief executive officer (CEO) Dan Zajicek has been appointed to the board of African fibre connectivity provider WIOCC.
Gilat Satcom subsidiary Gilat Satcom Nigeria is a founding shareholder in WIOCC and has always held a board-level position, with the company saying the involvement of Zajicek and the company’s continuing investment in WIOCC reflects the ever-increasing demand from its customers for high-speed fibre connectivity in Africa.
“Providing broadband connectivity over fibre in Africa is now the fastest-growing part of our business and compliments our traditional satellite business. WIOCC has changed the face of telecoms in Africa; its fibre network enables us to provide operators and enterprises with reliable, affordable connectivity across the continent,” said Zajicek.
