COFEK’s case against Victor Kyalo pushed to May 8

The Consumers Federation of Kenya’s (COFEK) lawsuit against the appointment of ICT Authority chief executive officer (CEO) Victor Kyalo has been pushed to May 8, when hearing dates will be decided.

HumanIPO reported earlier this week COFEK had gone to court to challenge the appointment of Kyalo, terming it as a non-competitive appointment and unconstitutional.

The case before Justice David Majanja was filed under the State Corporations Act, Cap 446, Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, with COFEK arguing in its petition though Kyalo is possibly qualified he is a beneficiary of a tainted, skewed, mysterious and illegal process, having been hired without competition and public participation.
