SEACOM adds Epsilon operators in partnership

Global network exchange Epsilon Telecommunications has signed an agreement with provider SEACOM so it can offer its services to Africa.

The deal means SEACOM’s customers will now have access to Epsilon’s more than 450 preconnected network operators around the world.

Clint Collins, Epsilon’s regional director of carrier business in the Middle East and Africa, said: “Having agreements with SEACOM allows us to serve more African carriers while helping carriers around the world connect to one of the world’s fastest growing telecommunications markets.

“We see growing demand in Africa for our outsourced network model and this agreement with SEACOM reaffirms our commitment to supporting African telecoms development.”

SEACOM’s 17,000km cable network connects South Africa and East Africa with Europe and Asia.

Epsilon has also signed an interconnection deal with West Africa Cable System.

Claes Segelberg, chief technical officer at SEACOM, said: “Our goal is to enable the future of the African internet and this means ensuring that our customers have access to high-quality network services both in Africa and abroad.

“Connecting with Epsilon further adds to the portfolio of network services available to the African market which is the foundation for growth.”
