Etisalat Nigeria announces MSc in telecommunications engineering

Etisalat Nigeria today announced it has established an MSc in telecoms engineering at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

The company made the announcement via its Facebook and Twitter social media accounts.

According to the company, the programme is being organised in partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Etisalat Academy, telecoms manufacturing company, Huawei, and Plymouth University in the United Kingdom.

“Quality, Innovation and Customer Focus are key pillars of our business. It is the first of its kind in West Africa,” Etisalat stated.

The company’s Blackberry and value-added services specialist, Doubrapade Koroye, told HumanIPO the company is unique for better services and youth’s segment. He said this has made the company unperturbed with the current mobile number portability (MNP).

“Etisalat is unique for its better services especially in data; we are strong in the youths’ segment that’s why in spite of the MNP, a lot of Etisalat subscribers want to keep their lines. Now people know that you can get better service and your calls won’t drop, such people would come to port their numbers.

“We look to be big gainers in this MNP and we are excited about it because we are building a capacity to have more customers,” he said.
