In an exclusive interview with HumanIPO Chike Maduegbuna, Chief Executive of FCO, said PeakSoccerMoments is an avenue to allow football fans to get rewards for their knowledge about the game.
“The whole idea is to create a mobile platform in addition to Facebook where people can predict the games and win gifts. There will also be a quiz going on. We are also going to use Twitter to create what we call Peak Moment,” he said.
He said football fans will choose what they consider the peak moment of each match which he said is expected to stimulate some form of conversation among Nigerian sports fanatics.
“That Peak Moment is more like finding out on every match day what participants will consider the peak moment. We will use that to create some level of conversations around the football fans while they are still predicting games and answering quizzes to win gifts,” Maduegbuna said.
On safeguards put in place to ensure traffic does not have a detrimental effect, he said the server is hosted using the best available technology.
“The way we do our things, we use the best available hosting solutions. For instance, our servers are on Amazon. So we don’t expect it coming down for anything, no matter the number of people that are going to come there,” he said.
He added AFCON will not hinder fans participating in the English Premier League trivial, predictions and challenges on FansConnectOnline.com as both will go concurrently.
Concerning the prizes on offer, he said participants will be excited.
“We want to give out a 32’ Samsung LED television set on every match day. There are 17 match days for the whole competition. So everyday, the winner of the aggregating point from the prediction will take home the TV set.
“The second prize is going to be a Blackberry phone and the third prize is going to a Samsung Galaxy Pocket phone. And then we will have about fourth to tenth who will be given 1,500 naira recharge cards. So every match day, we will be giving out those prizes,” he said.
