The operator used Nokia Siemens Networks’ single Radio Access Network (RAN) together with Liquid Core technology to conduct their LTE trial. The trial also made use of the Nokia Siemens Network’s Circuit Switched Fall Back (CSFB) voice call system, which will enable LTE mobile phones to fall back on Global System for Mobile (GSM) and 3G if necessary.
To consolidate management, monitoring and operation of Vodacom Tanzania’s LTE trial, Nokia Siemens Networks implemented its NetAct network management system.
