HumanIPO reported recently adoption of iOS 6.1 was set to be the fastest yet, with 22 percent of users upgrading within the first 36 hours of release.
But reports have emerged, particularly from iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 users, that following adoption of the iOS 6.1 update battery life of devices has decreased and the device heats up quickly. Connectivity issues include increases in dropped calls and difficulties in using data.
Users have been complaining about the update-related problems via the Apple Support Community, hoping for a quick fix - which reports suggest Apple is working on currently- while network operators have begun advising iPhone users to avoid installing the iOS 6.1 update.
“We’re aware of an issue caused by Apple iPhone 4s handsets that have been upgraded to iOS 6.1 which impacts performance on 3G. Some customers may occasionally experience difficulty in connecting to the network to make or receive calls or texts or to connect to the Internet. Apple is working on a solution to their software issue. These connection problems are intermittent,” Vodafone UK wrote on its forum.
“While Apple’s investigations continue, we would recommend that anyone who has not yet installed iOS 6.1 on their iPhone 4s should delay doing so until Apple has confirmed that their problem has been fixed.”
The iOS update has also caused problems for Microsoft Exchange users, with corporate users being widely advised not to adopt the latest operating system update. For those who have installed iOS 6.1 and are experiencing troubles, there is no way to return to a previous system.
