According to CNET, the app will be called Twitter Music and could be available on iOS by the end of the month.
The app will suggest artists and songs to listen to as a result of signals personalised based on the accounts a user follows. Songs will be streamed to the app via SoundCloud.
According to the report, staff at We Are Hunted have been tweeting tests using the hashtag #nowplaying for a month and the trial has included links to “suggestions” and “popular” and a section for emerging artists.
By following an artist their SoundCloud biography is brought up and a list of their track previews on iTunes.
We Are Hunted was founded in Australia in 2009, but is now based in San Francisco and staffed by fewer than 10 people.
