According to Sony’s managing director for MEA Hiroyasu Sugiyama, the new centres will help reinforce in the quick undertaking of after sale services requirements which he termed as a key component for sales.
The two new centres will be located in Parklands and Kimathi Street in Nairobi respectively.
All the centres in the country will be equipped with the latest technologically superior repair tools as well as highly qualified technicians.
“Customers will benefit from the services, support and added convenience that we can offer with an enhanced network of Sony authorized service centres across the country. These Kinds of intensive and specialized services mean that our customers will receive the best support without any compromise in turnaround times,” said Sugiyama.
According to data from the company, the centres receive an average up to 1,200 units every month. The centres can distribute a wide range of Sony devices ranging from televisions, camcorders, notebook computers, digital cameras and portable music devices.
Sony says the centres will also help the company improve on its quality assurance through quick relay of information and problems from customers to the regional headquarters in Dubai.
Hiroyasu adds the improvement of infrastructure by the company and increased product launches by the company indicates Africa as a key market for Sony.
He said opening service centres is part of the company’s long term strategic investment programme in infrastructure resources.
The two new centres will be supported by a network of five authorised service centres with two collection hubs.
