In a 12-page complaint, filed Monday evening in the Detroit Federal court, Eminem’s publishing company contends a Facebook advert broadcast online on April 4 copied music from the rappers track, Detroit Free Press reports.
Facebook chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg had featured the song in a 30-second advert for a webcast to announce Facebook Home, an interface for Android phone
According to Detroit Free Press, the complaint further said the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy copied Eminem's music "in an effort to curry favor" with Facebook by catering to Zuckerberg's personal likes and to "invoke the same irreverent theme" of the song.
The new suit comes after the rap star’s company agreed an out of court settlement with Apple in 2005 for using his song “Lose Yourself” in an iPod commercial. It also sued Audi for using the same song in a promotional clip.
