The award was received at the third Ghana Telecoms Awards held in Accra, with Michael Bosompem, chief retail officer at Samsung Ghana, saying they were “really humbled” by the recognition.
“We [would] like to dedicate the award to our customers who have believed in us over the period,” said Bosompem. “We would also like to dedicate the award to our distributors in Ghana, i2 and also our dealers who have contributed immensely to building the brand.”
Samsung said sales of the Galaxy S III in Ghana amount to more than US$200 million.
The South Korean electronics company has already launched its latest device, the Galaxy S IV, in Ghana and has partnered with Standard Chartered Bank to allow customers to pay for it in monthly installments for between six and 12 months.
