AfricaCom 2012 conference starts this week in Cape Town

AfricaCom is this week hosting the “Reaching the Net Frontier for Growth” conference at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.

 


Scheduled for November 13 to 15, AfricaCom 2012 has “gathered a veritable treasure-trove of inspirational speakers that will challenge the status quo for all stakeholders: telcos, disruptive OTT players, content providers, vendors and end-users.”


Speakers include Facebook growth manager Africa Nicola D'Elia, Google senior product manager Paul Lee, SABC general manager broadcasting Archie Sethaelo and Fox Networks SVP and GM Africa, Alessandro Tucci.


The 2012 AfricaCom incorporates the entire African digital ecosystem in 14 events. It includes more than 200 leading African and international tech, telco. media, digital and ICT visionaries such as Amazon, Facebook, Rovio, MixIt, Viadeo, Universal, Google, You Tube, Cell C, Orange, Wanachi Group and Endemol.


Events on the agenda cater for a wide variety of interest. The conference kicks off today with a pre-show networking event by AfricaCom.  Entrepreneur Incubator Hub offers a connection point for investors, incubators, start-ups, operators in motivating improvement and new initiatives in entrepreneurship. AfricApps is a developer-led event with Facebook, Amazon and other contributors in the line of commercial creative partnerships.


The Africa Industry Outlook features market forecasting and trend spotting. FITH Council Africa Summit takes place from 12 to 13 November.
