Okoroji added they have also made it very difficult for producers to monitor their work’s proliferation and licensing, Vanguard reported.
He therefore called for the establishment of a Collective Management Organisation (CMO) to help in addressing the challenges that internet capabilities have brought in order to ensure sustained growth of arts in Nigeria.
"Collective management cannot solve all the problems of the movie industry, but it can help the industry speak more and more with one voice and create a lot more wealth for the practitioners," Okoroji said.
According to him, CMO can help protect interests of actors, producers and movie makers, while allowing them to negotiate better terms and agreements.
