EatOut Kenya, Google and Wazi WiFi partner to bring Internet access to restaurants

A partnership between EatOut Kenya, Google and Wazi WiFi will help Nairobi restaurants boost their businesses by allowing patrons to access WiFi.

“Today, EatOut Kenya, Google and Wazi WiFi are teaming up to help restaurant owners in Nairobi understand how the power of the Internet can help them grow their businesses,” they said in a statement.

“The partnership between Google, Wazi WiFi and Eat Out Kenya will see Kenyans stay connected on the go, by simply switching to WiFi connections on their phones, tablets, or laptops while in the eating establishments.”

Google hopes that the partnership with EatOut and Wazi will allow business people to connect better from restaurants and also use Google hangouts.

The new partnership will add to the competition in the sector, with service provider Zuku also targeting refreshment establishments across Nairobi. In addition, Zuku has come up with plans to partner with construction companies to pre-install Zuku Internet for upcoming residential buildings.

Most high-end restaurants have their own connection to the Internet, like Nairobi Java House, and Dormans coffee bars.

EatOut Kenya has a strong online presence with reviews from restaurants across the country. The company also helps customers reserve tables through online booking.

Wazi provide access to the Internet for most parts of Nairobi. Users have to pay for the service through MPesa mobile money transfer and get daily connections.
