Under the business alliance agreement, Nazara Technologies will distribute EA's collection to more than 770 million mobile phone users across the continent. The company has been given exclusive distribution rights of the range of games to all telecom operators across 49 countries including Nigeria and Ghana.
The collection includes games such as Need For Speed, The Run and EA SPORTS FIFA 13. These games will be made available to consumers on JAVA and Android platforms through "N Play", one of Nazara's high traffic mobile gaming platforms.
Speaking to newsmen, the chief executive officer of Nazara Technologies an arm of The Nazara Group, Nitish Mittersain expressed the delight of his company at the new deal with EA which he said is an extension of the relation between both companies in covering Africa’s emerging gaming market.
Apart from Africa, Mittersain stated that the alliance the company has with EA in the Middle East has led to impressive successes for both establishments hence it will be expected that with Africa, both companies will be expanding their footprints.
Also speaking, Nazara’s CEO in charge of Middle East and Africa, Savio Saldanha, stated that the partnership is the fusion of EA's world-class high end mobile games with Nazara’s well established distribution and partner networks.
"At Nazara we are committed to partnering with the world's best-known brands to offer the ultimate gaming collection to users and telecom providers. Through Nazara's distribution strategy, EA's games will be at reach to users looking for quality yet affordable games," Savio said.
Speaking on behalf of EA, Catalina Lou, senior sales and marketing director, EMEA and LATAM, EA described EA’s history with Nazara as successful especially in India and the Middle East and expressed the gladness of EA to extend the harmonious working relationship with Nazara in bringing EA’s vast collection of games for African customers to enjoy on their mobile phones.
