Avaya brings internal communications tools including telephony, messaging, and email and mobility administration to Kenya ICT Board. According to Avaya, the unified communications solutions can support desktops, laptops, smartphones and dedicated IP desk phones.
The solutions will also enable employees of the organisation to link up with public and private networks, with a single site hosting as many as 1,000 users in over 32 locations.
“We are honored to provide Kenya ICT Board with a unified communication solution because we know how important it is to have a comprehensive solution that allows for greater scalability and conveniences,” said the region’s Avaya managing director Hatem Hariri.
Kenya ICT Board CEO Paul Kukubo, while speaking at the commissioning, said that the new communications tools will enable employees to avail efficiency from anywhere, including outside the office environment.
“With Avaya’s services and solutions, we now have a comprehensive communications solution that will enable our staff to have the proper tools to deliver tasks throughout the office or even outside the office,” he said.
Among other equipment provided by Avaya include I6 IP phones, 15 SIP extensions and 25 video soft phones worth an estimated $100,000 (approx Kshs.8.6 million).
Avaya, which opened its offices in Kenya as its regional headquarters, also has a partnership with telecoms operator Bharti Airtel offering customer service in 16 countries Airtel is present.
