The top blogs were chosen through public voting on the BAKE site.
Mr. Kachwanya of the bloggers association told HumaIPO the aim of the awards is to recognize and promote quality content creation in Kenya.
Similar efforts to have bloggers recognized were started by Kenya Unlimited but their effort fizzled out.
Njeri Wangari, in her blog, noted the awards ran by Kenya Unlimited, called Kaybee Awards, started six years ago but did not succeed since it came at a time when the blogging platform was small that most bloggers knew each other by name.
The Bloggers Association of Kenya was formed in 2011 to promote local content.
Submissions were opened on March 14 this year.
