Liebenberg joins Vodacom as managing executive

Deon Liebenberg (brainstormmag.co.za)

South African telecom Vodacom have appointed Deon Liebenberg, formerly managing director (MD) at Samsung, as managing executive for Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) and international business.

Liebenberg, who leaves Telkom after less than four months, will head up the VGE portfolio, serving 1,500 multinational clients across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Vuyani Jarana, chief officer of Vodacom Business, said Liebenberg has a “wealth of industry experience”.

His portfolio will include steering the growth and direction of Vodacom Business Africa (VBA). “VBA provides customers with a wide portfolio of enterprise ICT solutions across Africa. These range from pure access solutions to fully outsourced managed network services and managed hosted services,” he said.

Liebenberg served for a year as Samsung Electronics MD in South Africa, moving to Telkom Business Mobile as managing business executive in July. He resigned in November, with Vodacom confirming his appointment.
