HumanIPO reported earlier this month a leaked letter suggested MTN South Africa was planning to discontinue its uncapped BlackBerry Internet Service next month, in spite of previously expressing its belief in unlimited data.
But a statement from MTN today said: “MTN wishes to clear the confusion and put its customers at ease by assuring them that the Blackberry BIS service will not be discontinued.”
BIS is currently part of an unlimited Internet package which costs around R59 per month.
HumanIPO reported in January however that the newly launched BlackBerry 10 smartphones will not support the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS).
