The secretive state has long been accused of hacking others, while also providing a safe haven for private hackers.
HumanIPO reported earlier this month The Pirate Bay had claimed it was hosting its servers in the country after it was thrown out of Europe.
But in response to the alleged hack the state’s news agency, the KCNA, said today: “It is nobody's secret that the US and the South Korean puppet regime are massively bolstering up cyber forces in a bid to intensify the subversive activities and sabotages against the DPRK.
"Intensive and persistent virus attacks are being made every day on internet servers operated by the DPRK."
Tensions remain high between North Korea and the United States after it carried out its third nuclear test last month.
