With increasing internet and mobile use in Africa, Travelport intends to focus on online and mobile technology through its Galileo and Worldspan brands.
“Travelport will continue to invest in online and mobile technologies to complement existing products already available available in the region such as travelport mobile agent, which enables Travelport-connected agents to gain access to Galileo desktop from their smartphone, and travelport view trip Mobile, the itinerary management tool,” said Mark Meehan, managing director of Travelport Africa.
Speaking to HumanIPO Martin Herbert, regional director for East Africa, said the new Galileo service will benefit Kenyan and East Africa travellers.
“They will be able to see available seats in all East African airlines, book and cancel them as well. The service will allow them to search which is the cheapest carrier enabling us to provide value to the customer,” he said.
