BDS embarked on a fundraising project during its annual sales conference and as a result the funds for the donation were made available.
Johan Basson, BDS Chief Executive, said that the company acknowledges its responsibility towards the communities it operates in.
“It is heartening to be a part of such an amazing team and to know that you are making a difference at the same time”, said Basson.
Hundreds of animals every year make their way to the Randburg SPCA where they are cared for 24 hours a day. The SPCA also conducts animal placements, animal rescues and protection.
They prosecute people who wilfully abuse animals and the organisation runs education programmes to prevent animal cruelty.
As part of BDS’s social commitment to uplifting communities and society, the company is supporting the SPCA’s mission of freedom for animals.
Basson added the initiative was made possible mainly by the efforts of BDS’s sales team, spearheaded by Divisional Sales Director of the Xerox Division Warren Mande.
