In total 17 institutions across the Republic of Gambia received the donations from President Sheikh Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh with the State Guards receiving 17, the University of The Gambia 40 and 20 going to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital.
Vice President Njie Saidy thanked the head of government for creating a business-friendly environment allowing Gambians to thrive and their businesses flourish.
"Small as we may be, but really when you look at per capita access to computers in The Gambia compared to other African countries or Third World countries, we are not doing badly. The rate at which we are going, if the president is really assisted by patriotic and development-oriented partners by 2012, I don't mean every child will have a computer but we would've gone far," she said.
Other beneficiaries were the School of Nursing, the National Drugs Enforcement Agency, the Gambia Prisons Services and the Gambia Fire and Rescue Services.
