HumanIPO reported last week that rights issues may be behind the reason the Store had been launched without movies, but Apple remained silent today despite requests for an explanation as to why they now are.
The iTunes store was launched in the country on Tuesday, December 4, at the same time it was made available in 54 countries, including Russia, India and Turkey.
Movies can be bought or rented and there are South African movies as well as international blockbusters available.
Purchase prices range from R129.99 (US$15) to R149.99 and rental costs R39.99.
