The Chamber is lobbying for the construction of the towers in order to enhance delivery of telecommunications services in the country.
Kwaku Sakyi-Addo, Chief Executive of the industry lobby group, said several incidents have occurred where companies were not granted permits, thus were unable to embark on construction projects.
“The quality of telecommunications services will suffer unless infrastructure grows to correspond with subscriber growth,” said Sakyi-Addo.
Mobile network operators together with telecom infrastructure companies were reportedly ready to to invest in enhancing service delivery.
However, cooperation and support by the local authorities and communities is needed in order for the companies to proceed.
