The application enables users to view, search and apply for jobs on the mobile version and makes it user friendly for the BlackBerry phones.
The company has reported: “Early adopters who participated in the soft launch have been giving rave reviews on the app, calling it the best mobile app in the country at the moment.
“The app also works like BlackBerry messenger application updating itself and notifying users on an hourly basis (between 9am and 6pm) when there are fresh jobs.”
Opeyemi Awoyemi, co-founder of the company, said Jobberman is a lifestyle company using technology and harnessing the power of the internet to bridge the gap between job seeker and job opportunities in Nigeria.
The site is quite popular in the markets they have a presence in including Nigeria and Ghana. Its first mobile application debut was on the Nokia Ovi store in 2012 where it received numerous downloads.
Job sites in Africa are becoming quite popular, noting that the unemployment rates in the continent are high. Some companies that are having great traction in Africa include Kenya’s Mkazi and Ghana’s mPawa.
Both of the companies leverage their effectiveness on the mobile phone. Users can get updates either on mobile web or through text and USSD.
