On its official website, MTN Ghana said it is using the platform to groom artists who need support to succeed.
“Over the years, Ghana has witnessed the proliferation of music reality shows whose main aim is to identify and nurture young talents to become seasoned musicians. MTN has identified the need for up and coming musicians to be supported and this calls for the creation of a music program that will help groom young and talented music artistes who have composed their own music but require support to succeed,” MTN said.
Interested participants can register to participate on the show by either submitting their demos at any of MTN offices across the nation or by uploading it to MTN Play.
MTN said: “The best 60 contestants from across the country will be chosen by a panel of musicians and will then be invited to Accra to do live performances of their music.
“Each contestant will perform live on stage to an audience and this will be telecast on Television. Their performance will be judged by a selected panel of judges and the general public. In addition, the songs of the contestant will also be played on radio to ensure maximum airtime coverage.”
It added that the overall winner will be selected from 10 finalists and will walk away with a record contract valued at GHC100,000 (US$50,000).
