The offer, the company said, will encourage the affected subscribers to register their lines before June 30 when the regulatory body, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), said those unregistered would be disconnected from the network.
A company statement said: “Any Glo subscriber who is yet to register his SIM should please visit the nearest Glo World shop or any other approved retail centre to do so before the deadline of June 30.”
The network with the largest customer base, MTN Nigeria, is running a similar promotion, offering its subscribers NGN400 (US$2.50) free airtime for subscribers registering their SIM cards.
