The Mail & Guardian (M&G) reported last week that Lebooa claimed he was threatened with his life, hijacked, beaten and then taken for a three hour hell ride. According to Lebooa, the alleged antagonists were sent by WBS.
Lebooa claimed the attack was a result of his efforts to have the company settle an approximate amount of R100 million (US$11.2 million) in fees, which pertain to illegal radio links, unpaid licenses, telecoms and mobile phone networks used by WBS. According to Lebooa, the attackers said he must abandon this.
M&G reported today Lebooa found out last week Thursday a case of Crimen Injuria was laid against him. Crimen Injuria means to unlawfully, intentionally and seriously impair the dignity of another. WBS told the M&G they had no involvement in the said attack. ICASA would also not comment on the case.
