The event will be held in partnership with mobile aggregation services provider Integrat.
The Kenyan event is a follow-up to the mapIT Developers Day held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in October last year. It will focus on deCarta’s newest version of mapIT’s JavaScript application programming interface (API), which is built on top of the industry’s leading independent high-volume LBS platform.
According to mapIT, the cross-platform APIs will allow for building applications that run seamlessly on tablets, smartphones and desktop devices. deCarta’s platform supports some of the largest LBS services in the world and is available as a cloud-based service or as a self-hosted solution.
With more than 8 million kilometres of road and two million points of interest across Africa the developers are assured of acquiring access to the best possible data or platform in Africa, mapIT said in a statement.
The development session will feature the latest developments available on the deCarta location based services (LBS) platform covering both Web and mobile applications.
”Whether a developer needs or is currently utilising web or mobile location based services applications, this is the preferred technology platform which will enable the user to easily white label any application across Africa,” said Etienne Louw, Managing Director mapIT.
The event will take place on March 25, 2013, at Nairobi’s Fairview Hotel.
