The company revealed last week the new PlayStation model would be available by the end of the year, following weeks of speculation a new console may be under development.
The high-resolution images released today show what player profiles will look like on the new device - displaying trophies won, a “now playing” screen and a most recent panel.
Other images show the news feed, game streaming and video editing screens of the new console.
Perhaps most prominently, the released pictures also display what the “share” function will look like, via which a gamer can decide to allow other users to remotely join or watch a game in session.
The interface is similar to the current PlayStation Store design, and reflects the more “social media” style of console which seems to be the differentiating theme to the new console, although Sony may not stand by the design showed in today’s images.
Sony has not yet revealed what the main console will look like, having so far only unveiled the next generation touch screen DualShock 4 handset that will accompany the console.
