Twitter users in Kenya have turned around yesterday’s twitter war hashtag, #someonetellnigeria, to pass on their condolences to their counterparts in West African country.
Chinua Achebe was among the top ten trending on twitter worldwide hours after the news of his death broke.

The Nigerian author Albert Chinualumogu Achebe who is famous for his book Things Fall Apart died in Boston following an illness.
His death was confirmed by both his agent and Publisher Penguin with publishing editor Simon Winder calling him an “utterly remarkable man”.
"Chinua Achebe is the greatest of African writers and we are all desolate to hear of his death," he said.
Chinua is regarded as among the founders of African literature with his books having been translated into more than 50 languages.
Among his writings include: Things Fall Apart, Man of the People, Anthills of the Savannah, Arrow of God, Beware Soul Brother and Chike and the River.
Until his death Achebe held the position of professor of Africana studies at David and Marianna Fisher University.
