In a statement made available to HumanIPO, the foundation said the webcast is curated and hosted by Melinda Gates, the Microsoft supremo’s wife.
The event will be streamed live from the Foundation’s Campus in Seattle, USA, and will be made available for viewers in eight languages - English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin and Arabic.
The foundation added the event will feature talks that explore the concept of “positive disruption” and will be anchored by various speakers who will be speaking on interesting issues affecting disruption of society, agriculture, technology, and communities in ways that make our world a better place.
In her opening remarks, Melinda Gates acknowledged the active participation of citizens across the world including third world countries such as Haiti.
She stressed the need for platforms such as TedxChange, without which several sensitive issues such as contraception would not be positively and openly discussed.
The event could also be followed on Twitter using the tag #tedxchange.
“TEDxChange is a partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and TEDx, dedicated to promoting conversations about global health and development,” the statement said.
