A report in the Financial Times says one senior member of the iWatch team has already been convinced to stay on by being offered a pay rise, and Apple has also purchased a number of small development companies for their staff expertise.
HumanIPO reported earlier this month Apple had registered the iWatch trademark in Japan and Russia, while rival Google is already well ahead in the wearable computing market with its Glass product already in the hands of thousands of “Explorers” around the world.
Startup Pebble is already in the wearable device market, with their “smart watch” able to connect to iPhones and Android handsets. The company says it has already received 275,000 orders.
