The global operator, which has networks in 15 countries and more than 140 million subscribers, has more than 27 per cent market share in the North African country.
Etisalat Egypt said the new system, which allows it to move away from a software package provided by a rival vendor, will provide better operational efficiency and more control over revenue risks.
Khalid AImansouri, chief information officer at Etisalat Egypt, said: “Given our strategy to be the leading operator in technology and innovation, we selected Raid to boost our revenue assurance capabilities matching the speed of business.”
Etisalat are currently in the process of bidding for Vivendi’s 53 per cent stake in Moroccan operator Maroc Telecom, which would further increase their presence on the continent.
