HumanIPO reported in July the government’s plans to reach cyber city status by August.
Wellington Makamure, managing director (MD) of Liquid Telecom Zimbabwe, revealed the company’s progress.
The completion of the communication centre as connected to major accommodation sites on high speed fibre links from South Africa now establishes Victoria Falls as a cyber city.
The UNWTO General Assembly will take place in the resort town of Victoria Falls and Livingstone, Zambia between August 24 and 29.
Makamure said: “Every proud Zimbabwean has to do something to build the nation when faced with such a task to showcase the beauty of our nation and support it by connectivity,” The Herald reported.
Makamure considers it the company’s duty “to connect Africa to Africa” for more affordable communication costs.
