The Gidilounge music app has been approved to be included on the Apple App Store, making it the first African music-on-demand application available on the iOS platform.
Nigerian Benny Alaga, a Gidilounge executive, told HumanIPO the app was chosen ahead of Spinlet and iRoking.
Alaga said the achievement confirms the belief of Gidilounge management that mobile is the true home of music.
“We’ve always believed that mobile was the true home for music, letting users enjoy their favorite African music on their way to work, on a treadmill, while waiting for a train, or when peacefully enjoying a great day outside,” Alaga said.
He said in designing the app, some core underlying principles were kept which are user-first design, app usability and auto-sync.
“Download the app for iOS and Android and test it out. Trust us, you are gonna love it,” he told HumanIPO.
