The country is the only one in Africa to get a specialised Trends in this set of developments, with the majority of new locations being cities within countries that already had country-specific Trends.
Within Kenya, users can also select to have Trends tailored to Nairobi or Mombasa.
Prior to the new additions, Nigeria and South Africa were the only two African countries to enjoy their own Trends service.
Twitter emphasised the company is constantly working on bringing Trends to new locations, with new countries and cities being added regularly over the course of the year.
Trends list the 10 most popular topics being tweeted about in a given location, with Twitter users able to set their account to display Trends from their favoured location.
“By checking out Trends, you can easily find breaking news and current hot topics that are most relevant to you,” Twitter explains.
To reset the Trends location on an account, users should click “Change” on the Trends sidebar to the left of screen when logged in to Twitter.
