Reuters reports Orin Snyder said finding Apple guilty would “send shudders through the business community” and impact how businesses investigate new markets.
“We submit a ruling against Apple on this record sets a dangerous precedent,” Snyder said.
The US Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Apple and five major US publishers in April last year, saying they conspired to fix e-book prices in order to undercut Amazon. The publishers have already settled.
Reuters reported previously Amazon vice president for Kindle content Russell Grandinetti had said publishers issued Amazon with an ultimatum over letting them set the prices for e-books after they became able sell through Apple in 2010.
