Mdundo said the first edition will include shows featuring artists Sauti Sol, Jaguar, Octopizzo, Dela and Rabbit.
Martin Nielsen, marketing and operations manager at the Nairobi startup, said the latest feature is another step into increasing interaction between Kenyan music fans and artists.
“The past three months have been great. We are starting to get where we want to be, giving Africans easy access to local and global content,” said Nielsen.
“This show is a contribution to the industry, we are told so many great stories from our artists every day and we think they deserve to be shared. Octopizzo’s “Stay So Fly” being one of my favorite stories.”
Show host Peter Njoroge, who also doubles as social media manager for Mdundo, said the music show will also be used to review new and popular songs in the country.
“The show was really a spontaneous idea. We receive so much great music and with this show I would like to give our users a weekly review of the top songs on Mdundo.com“, said Njoroge, who is also an artist on the Mdundo platform.
The podcast is available free of charge on mobile from the Mdundo website.
