The report, presented by the Consumer Federation of Kenya (COFEK) today, also showed that social media accounted for more than 50 per cent of sites while local and international news had less than 10 per cent.
The Standard Group was the overall company within Kenya with most visits at position seven, beating its main rival Nation Media Group at position 11.
Kenya contributed to more than half of the people who visited Standard Media with 54.6 per cent followed by the United States at 10.5 per cent and Tanzania at 4.2 per cent.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Government Human Resource Information Systems sites were the only government agencies that made the top 100 websites
The only academic institution in top 100 is the University of Nairobi, at position 48.
