Ghanaian king calls for ICT integration

The 16th King of the Kingdom of Ashanti, Ghana, has requested institutions to include ICT training for enhanced equipment of trainees.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the 16th King Asantehene, urged technical and other career-oriented establishments to incorporate ICT skill training into programmes.

As modern education in the field has become more knowledge-based, the king reasoned, the ICT integration will benefit candidates’ competence in the job market.

Tutu II spoke at the Ramseyer Vocational Technical Institute (RVTI) at the inauguration of the recent completion of a computer laboratory.

He urged the government to assign more funds for the building of vocational and technical education to combat youth unemployment,Ghana News Agency reported.

He pointed to Germany’s tech investments as an example for Ghana.
