Samsung’s very large TV is equipped with ultra-high definition (UHD) quality. Despite the average South African household earnings per annum being at ZAR119,542 (US$12,333),TV manufacturers said it is well worth it for those who are able to afford it.
“Rather than a home appliance, Samsung has created a TV that blends in with a home’s interior decor,” the Independent Online (IOL) quoted Lance Berger, head of product marketing for Samsung South Africa, as saying.
According to the report by IOL, DionWired managed to sell one of the six TVs they have in stock in under a month.
The large UHD TV reportedly has four times the resolution compared with other high definition screens on the South African market.
Furthermore the TV equipped with 120-watt speakers, is suspended from a frame, is able to support 3D movies and web browsing and is also equipped with a built in camera aimed at video communication.
HumanIPO reported earlier this week the same large Samsung TV had been launched in Kenya.
