The UHD TV S9 model has four times the resolution and pixels of the Full HD TV in the market.
Allan Oyier, Samsung Electronics general manager, said the 85-inch currently in display at Nakumatt stores and the Samsung brand stores in Parklands has among its features the capability to convert HD to full HD and to UHD thereafter.
“With the proprietary Samsung up-scaling engine, the Samsung UHD TV up-converts HD or Full HD picture to UHD-level quality by restoring detail to create greater precision and real-life picture quality,” Oyier said.
“Whether you’re catching your favourite TV drama or the latest movie on Blu-ray, you’ll be immersed in the most stunning picture possible.”
According to Samsung, the precision pro technology incorporated in the S9 can deliver enhanced contrast, enhance picture quality thus enhancing the users experience.
Oyier added that the device is set to transform home viewing experience through features such as voice control, motion control and face recognition supported by the user interface.
The new launch is however likely to face stiff competition to similar products by its rivals earlier in the year including theSony 4K TV and theSharp Aquos.
