Patel, formerly MTN Group’s chief financial officer, stepped down earlier this week citing “certain allegations” which had been made against him.
Those allegations however, have not yet been made public.
Brett Goschen was immediately parachuted in to fill Patel’s shoes, leaving his position as CEO of MTN Nigeria in the process.
That role has now been filled by Michael Ikpoki, who attended Harvard University in the United States, who leaves his position as CEO of MTN Ghana and will be replaced by MTN South Africa’s chief marketing officer (CMO) Serame Taukobong.
Brian Gouldie, chief customer sales at MTN South Africa, will begin now as CMO.
