The app called Mobiflock My Child, installable on the phones, monitors the sites visited allowing parents or guardians to control the children’s browsing habits.
“The benefits the phones give our children are huge. But, no matter how tech-savvy kids appear, they are still children and need both guidance and protection from their parents and guardians,” said Patrick Lawson, Mobiflock founder.
Children are at high risk of exposure to violence, nudity and inappropriate sites whenever they launch into the Internet, says Mobiflock.
“It is a reality also that most children have access to smart phones and computers. It’s no longer a case of ‘if’ my child gets a smartphone, but rather ‘when’,” said Lawson.
The new release has seen Mobiflock bring in newer features including:
- Web blocking on Android smart phones and tablets
- Application of blocking on Android smart phones and tablets
- parental control services for BlackBerrys
- a new free service, Mobiflock My Life, allows anyone to block unwanted callers, track phone use and find or disable a lost or stolen phone
